| Betty
and Jim Zeiner, Sr.
started the original Zeiner's store July 1, 1953 in a garage
next to the family home a couple miles south of Wichita. To get
to the store, customers had to leave the highway and travel a
quarter-mile on an often pot-hole filled dirt road. The family
no longer operates the original store. |
The Zeiner family
has been helping
anglers fill their needs since 1953. |

Deb Zeiner was introduced to fishing by her dad and spent
her younger years fishing with him. In additon to being involved
in the tackle business, Deb is an outdoor writer.
Jim Zeiner, Jr. grew up in the business and spent many of the early
years on the other end of a seine with his dad and making Magic
CheeZe, a bait developed
by Jim Sr.

Deb and Jim purchased the original Zeiner's
store after the death of Jim's father and have been operating
Zeiner's Bass Shop since 1986. The Bass Shop has been located
at Gilbert and Washington since 1989, the same year it became
a Bass Pro Shop dealer.

Zeiner started
working in the Bass Shop at age ten in 1985 and spent his high
school years traveling with his dad, Jim Jr., to outdoor shows
each winter to promote the store. He created the original internet
store and handles
the internet business now. |

| David Johnson, a long time Zeiner's customer, joined the staff
in early 2003 as a sales associate. Dave enjoys all types of
fishing and spends much of his spare time tying flies when not
fishing. |

| Alex
Hale joined the
Zeiner staff in 2006 after one of our other staffers met him
fishing at Wichita's Watson Park and recruited him. Alex is a
passionate angler and loves fishing many of the Wichita city
lakes. |

| Deb and Jim's
grandson James helps out in the store when he has a chance.
His favorite job is running the cash register. His favorite kind
of fishing is for bass. |

Zeiner's continues to expand the selection of lures
and equipment. A comprehensive do-it-yourself center for lure
making and fly tying is also available. Zeiner's is a St. Croix
Ultra Dealer, Falcon direct dealer and a Cortland Pro Shop.
Zeiner's works
hard to stock a
wide selection and will special order things not in stock.
