Handling live fish with care ensures safe release to swim again
Black bass are often released quickly after being caught by anglers, sometimes only out of the water long enough for a moment of admiration and a photograph.
Releasing black bass back into the water to continue growing and reproducing can be a smart choice, but there are a few steps that can help ensure black bass and other sport fish are released unscathed by the few minutes it spends in an angler’s possession. Read

Walleye moving into shallow water
As water warms, walleye fishing heats up
May 5, 2010 - PRATT — As table fare, walleye are at the top of most anglers' lists. They are not only tasty, but they grow large enough that a few fish can feed a family. Walleye move over shallow points, flats, and underwater roadbeds to feed in May and early June. While fishing from a boat is the preferred method, walleye can be caught at this time by wading. Look for fish in water 3 to 15 feet deep. Read
