I've said it before, but this
has to be the year
Those of you that are regular Angler readers have
heard this before, but I'm going to say it again. This year we're
going to fish more than we did last year.
We had big plans for last year, but didn't get
to do as much fishing as we would have liked to. But then, when
do you ever do as much fishing as you would like to?
Deb changed jobs in May as she left the Emporia
Gazette and moved to the Chase County Chamber of Commerce as
the director. She is having a ball helping promote the county
we now call home.
We finally sold our home in Wichita and I am now
living in Cottonwood Falls full time instead of making frequent
trips back and forth. Now I come down to Wichita on Mondays to
check in with Steve and Robin at the store.
The rest of the week, I'm busy in a new venture
for us. We opened a new store last November in downtown Cottonwood
Falls. We moved the office for The Kansas Angler to there. If
you're ever in the area, stop by 328 Broadway and see me. The
new store, Cottonwood Mercantile, is a mixture of several things.
We have antique and discontinued fishing lures and tackle, candy,
gifts, cards, western collectibles and more. It's a different
mix than you will see anywhere else.
I hope you read the article Deb wrote about Chase
County in this issue. We really enjoy it. Before moving here,
we used to end up here on many of our "drives" when
we decided to go for a ride. Come see us and enjoy what we enjoy
every day. Plan to fish at Chase County State Lake.
This issue is larger than last year's thanks to
our advertisers. I hope you will let them know you saw their
ads and let them know you appreciate it. Even better, buy something
from them.
Jim Zeiner
PS - In the print issue of The Angler, we
listed the top 100 teams in the Kansas Walleye Association. The
information came from the KVA website but I received a call after
The Angler was published informing me that we had incorrect information.
The correct results are in our current articles on this website
and can be found by clicking here.
I apologize to the actual season winners and any others this
incorrect information affected.
