Two records set in 2004 - one is world record

Two state records were set in 2004, up from only one in 2003.
Clinton Boldridge of Riley went carp fishing May 5 at Atchison's Watershed Dam #7. He went home with not only a Kansas record paddlefish, but also a new world record. Catching the fish on carp bait and the location of the catch were both very unusual. (See full story on next page.)

The only other state record broken in 2004 was by Jason Heis of Salina while competing in his local bass club's tournament at Milford Reservoir. He knew Milford had quality smallmouth and this confirmed it. (See full story on next page.)
