Randy Dearman
and Charlie Ingram were guests on May 22 show, shared many tips
The angler many credit with
starting the braided line craze when he won a tournament on Sam
Rayburn several years ago was the first guest on the Bass Angler's
Network program May 22. He discussed summer fishing patterns,
line selection and other topics.
Charlie Ingram was the guest
during the second hour. He continued a discussion on braided
line in addition to rod selection, split shotting and other topics.
After an open forum during
the first hour of the April 24 program, Texas bass pro Jay Yelas
was the guest during the second hour of The Bass Anglers' network.
One of the callers was Shawn from Wichita. He asked Yelas about
types of reels because he had the experience of one type of reel
catching walleye while his wasn't. When he switched reels, he
started catching fish. Yelas suggested it was not really the
reel, but the retrieve speed of the reel.
The second hour guest on April 17 was Chad Brauer
following an open forum first hour. Brauer
generated quite a number of callers from around the country.
Kansas callers included David from Andover and Jim Zeiner, Kansas
Angler publisher. Jim and his wife Debbie own Zeiner's
Angler Supply in Wichita.
Filling in for a guest that
couldn't make it, Oklahoma tournament angler Clayton Douglas
appeared during the first hour of the Bass Angler's Network Saturday,
March 27. Topics discussed included fishing the Zara Spook, line,
and types of rods and reels to use for "walkin' the dog."
Part of the rod discussion focused on a trend back to pistol
grip rods for applications needing more control.
Tom Mann Jr. was the second
guest. Many credit him with perfecting the carolina rig. Mann
placed second in the last FLW Tour event. Mann discussed fishing
slow finesse fishing during this time of the year with coldwater
fishing.
Guests on March 20 were Red
Man All American Champion Qualifier Slade Dearman and ten time
qualifier for the BassMaster Classic and three time top 100 champion
Ron Shuffield.
The show on the week before
got on the discussion of two stroke engines with most if not
all the calls coming from the Kansas area.
Gene Mobley, a federation
angler that worked his way up through the ranks, was also a guest
during the first hour of the program.
Guy Eaker was guest for the
first hour on Feb. 27 and Neil Hart of Triton boats was on the
second hour. The guest for the first hour on Feb. 20 was Rich
Lillegard. The second hour guest was the founder and brains behind
the FLW circut Erwin Jacobs, the man who says he will see million
dollar tournaments become reality.
Saturday, Feb. 13 they talked
to Joel Richardson who won the first FLW tournament in Clewiston.
The second guest was Tommy Martin, long time B.A.S.S. angler
who won the classic in 1974.
If you are close enough to
get the signal from KNSS out of Wichita, get up early Saturday
mornings and listen to the Bass Anglers Network from 5:00 until
7:00 sponsored by Zeiner's Angler Supply. If you can't get the signal,
go to www.ksdo.com and listen to the show over your computer.
It has a talk show format and you can call in. They offer prizes
every once in a while for people that call in. An Andover, Kansas
angler won a prize on the show Saturday, Feb. 20.
